Program Overview
ROTC is
the Army's Reserve Officer Training Corps--a program that prepares
college students to earn commissions in the United States Army as
Second-Lieutenants upon graduation by teaching them "the science of
warfare and the art of leadership". To learn more about ROTC,
click on the ROTC shield below. The Shield, worn by all ROTC
cadets and cadre from every Army ROTC program around the country and
territories of the United States, is divided into quarters
representing each of the four traditional Military Science courses.
Our Motto is "LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE".
Mission
Statement
The BSU Department of Military Science and Leadership Development
will serve as the premier leadership development program on three
different campuses, Ball State University, Indiana Wesleyan
University, and Indiana Purdue at Fort Wayne University, by
attracting, preparing, mentoring, and developing quality cadets into
professional officers and developing our reputation as a positive
contributing member of each campus using immersive learning
opportunities.

The Army
ROTC program at Ball State University is looking for quality
students, athletes, and leaders capable of leading America's Army.
In order to do so, we stress the importance of living the Army
Values. These seven core values are LOYALTY, DUTY, RESPECT,
SELFLESS SERVICE, HONOR, INTEGRITY, and PERSONAL COURAGE.
